We've had a dormant winter and spring for brewing, due to equal parts weekend backyard renovating and pregnancy. Summer's on its way, though, so it's time to fill up the kegs with some lighter brews.

Kerry has slowly been making his way through the three winter batches we currently have on tap: a brown ale, a milk stout, and a Jubelale*. I prefer wheatier beers, so Kerry has used my pregnancy as an excuse to brew all the darker, creamier brews that he enjoys in chilly weather.

Today he's switching gears and brewing up a hearty Hefeweizen, one of my favorites. Served with a slice of lemon, this is a perfect summer drink. Now we just have to wait for the weather to warm up enough for a backyard keg party.

*Jubelale

This recipe came from a local beer store, but Kerry wan't too happy with the results. The strong taste was too alcoholic to enjoy.
